All good things must come to an end, right? Wh-what? That’s no fun!
So as one good giveaway ends, I’m serving up another.
That’s right!
Because I think there needs to be a copy of this lovely book in your future. And it just so happens that I have an extra one for you!
Seriously, Cheryl Najafi’s new book makes me want to have a party. Like, right now. It’s gorgeous and chock full of recipes (think Mediterranean White Bean Stew and Strawberry Layer Cake), party ideas (think a kid’s Pirate Party and a Martini Birthday Bash), and tips on decorating (think centerpieces and tablescapes). It’s a ridiculously gorgeous party-in-a-book.
Plus it’s a New York Times best seller! So let’s get our party pants on:

The best party that I have attended was my daughter’s carnival birthday party! It was set up like a carnival complete with pony rides, carnival games, popcorn station, cotton candy tent, clowns, balloons, etc…. It was a fun party to throw for her! everyone enjoyed it!
The best party I ever attended was my Bat Mitzvah. It was Paris themed with a Montmarte caricature station, Moulin Rouge movie posters, tables named for different paris fashion houses, and gorgeous rose and bustier centerpieces. If I could live anywhere in the world, it would have to be Paris so getting transported to my favorite city for the night with all of my closest friends and family was a dream come true!
“Best Party” is hard to pin down. But one that sticks out in my mind is a friend’s wedding. I had been missing my home stomping ground of San Francisco living here in Phoenix. I had the chance to fly back for the wedding which was held at Fort Mason on grassy expanse overlooking boats going back and forth in the Bay. The theme for the food was Northern California. There was a station with nuts, cheeses, dried fruits, and other fixings to represent Napa. There was a station with mini Chinese takeout boxes with a noodle salad and other Asian finger foods to represent San Francisco’s Chinatown. The main station which had pasta, prime rib, grilled vegetables and other foods represented North Beach, a SF neighborhood dominated by Italian eateries. It was tastefully done and satisfied my craving for San Francisco atmosphere and food. To share that all with friends was awesome!

I just “liked” you on Facebook.
The best party I ever attended was my wedding reception. We had found the greatest winery in downtown Scottsdale, AZ (Su Vino Winery), and knew right away this was where we had to have our reception. We had about 130 of our friends & family attend. We had beautifully catered appetizers, a cheese bar with cheeses from all around the world, a gourmet chocolate bar with about 10 different chocolates, and delicious wine made by the winery itself, and to top off the fantastic evening everyone in attendance got to bottle their very own bottle of wine complete with a custom label that my husband and I designed to commemorate our event. Four years later we still get comments about how much fun everyone had that night!
Best party was ones my husband and I hosted. Not that we haven’t been to great parties. But I love to entertain. For several years we hosted a Ranch branding/barn party. All our friends would come and ride and rope. Those who didn’t ride loved watching. Than when the “work” was done we’d go to the barn, for some fresh roasted pulled pork, and other sides were a mystery because everyone brought a side or dessert to share. Than the musicians would get out there guitars and we’d sing and dance. We’d have a campfire also. What great memories!
The best party I’ve ever been to was a Mexican Charro-themed wedding reception, with the most gorgeous embroidered tablecloths, that looked like something you would see on a mariachi suit. And the centerpieces were these big beautiful sombreros that were also embroidered.
I liked your facebook page!
I attended a wedding that was beautiful and very low key for a Catholic service. They even had the Charlie Brown theme song for marching down the isle. The reception was at a local historic building turned in to a microbrewery. You could walk the grounds or lounge on the porch. The bride and groom looked picture perfect!
The best party I ever attended was probably my older daughter’s seventh birthday. It was at her Tae Kwon Do dojang, and the instructors had her demonstrating things for the guests. That was the first time I really saw her in front of a group showing maturity and self-confidence…I realized that she wasn’t my little girl anymore!

The best party I’ve ever attended was an artist’s party in up-state NY. The artist lives in a converted dairy barn and for this particular party he turned a satellite dish into a giant wok and stir-fried with a shovel enough vegetable fried rice for an army. It didn’t taste bad, either!
The best party I’ve ever attended was a Sunday school class halloween party. Our minister came dressed as a woman with a frizzy wig, a purse, and to complete his outfit he chose a pair of comfortable work boots! One guy thought he was really a woman until he got up close!

The best party I’ve attended was my own going away party. Everyone shows up for a going away party, and you get to chat with your friends all night!
The best party I ever attened was my 18th birthday. I just had a stereo and no DJ or anything like that. I had only basic junk food snacks I wasn’t a good cook back then. It was in a friends 3 story house. A band showed up, set up and started playing. To this day I don’t know who they were or who hired them! We all had the time of our lives. For years people wanted me to throw another party like that. lol

That is such a cool book – and your comment request is super-duper!
The best party I ever attended – HANDS DOWN – was in Rosarito Beach, Mexico – back in the 80s. No one was allowed to drive – a bus took us a down there. Tequila shooters on the bus, Steak and Lobster for dinner and frozen margaritas all night! The weather was perfect, the beaches were stunning and we had the most amazing time EVER!
Enf of exam blowout last year!
The best party ever? My sister’s wedding (probably b/c I was still single then) and my best friend’s wedding (too bad that one didn’t last but it was a damn good party!

The best party I ever went to was definitely an annual Christmas party my closest friends and I have every year. It was a few years ago and we had this delicious pasta alfredo dish, fun gifts, and lots (and lots and lots) of laughing. It was nice just being the three of us for the first time since we had gotten out of high school.
Best Party Ever…A family wedding- FANTASTIC!!

The best party I ever attended was my 16th birthday party…I had 12 girls over for a slumber party…my mom drove us around the drag in our car…all of us at one time…we had the windows down and had such a blast…my friends tell me that this is one of the highlight memories of their youth. We had all kinds of food and snacks and watermelon…my mom was the best.
The best party I’ve been to was my 30th!!
Best Party Ever…. Giving my parents their 25th wedding anniversary gathering. I was a young bride at the time and was so happy to actually pull off the surprise. They were so blessed as life long friends gathered to celebrate. My parents were never able to have a honeymoon or any kinda of celebration so this was a great blessing. That was 35 years ago.

The best party I attended was my 22nd birthday.
The best party Ii’ve been to is one I threw for the last show of the TV series MASH. All my friends came over with potluck and booze and we watched show, cried about the end of the show and talked about the series for hours. Then we all got up and danced like a bunch of crazy people (of course the booze helped). We had a blast!
a party i just went to for my friends birthday, it was in her backyard and it was so fun!
Shared with FB. Thanks.
Best party. My parties. I use to give a lot of them, but we moved out of our house into an apartment so the big parties are no more.
I would have to say that the best party I’ve ever been to was my (at that time) boyfriend’s 25th birthday. I threw him a surprise party the week before his birthday (he’s an aerospace engineer so it was a nerd party, complete with a Linux Penguin cake and me wearing a shirt that said “my heart belongs to an aerospace engineer). As awesome as that sounds, the best surprise was his family birthday dinner a week later on his real birthday. We had food and fun and then we went with some friends to look at Christmas lights. We came to a quiet spot with beautiful lights, and before I knew it, my boyfriend had pulled out a ring and told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me! Best party ever;)
I wish I could say I’ve been to some awesome parties. I have attended some really cool parties when I worked as a wedding photographer’s assistant. But as far as going as a guest, I honestly have to say the parties I’ve thrown have been way more fun than the parties I’ve attended. I know, I know…I’m so modest. But it’s true, true true, because I love hosting parties and want everything to be totally perfect!
Besides that, the Muppet-themed party my friend threw for my 40th (ack) birthday was pretty awesome! Homemade pizza, a gonzo-themed cake, pretty great!
I liked you on FB! (I already real-liked you, but I “liked” you.)
Best party? Annual Halloween party, for adults only, COSTUMES REQUIRED! Our friends have it in a lodge in the middle of a forested area (good for deadening sounds of drunken costumed people). Endless drinks and food over the weekend, good fun, and good people!

The best party? I guess I have to go with my wedding. All my friends and family in one place, with good food? Can’t get much better than that!

I think my favorite party ever would have to be my wedding! I just loved seeing all of the planning and hard work come out exactly as I had imagined!
My BEST party was my wedding. 9-2-06
I had a blast planning for it and would do it all over again.
Decor was country sheek with April Cornell linens.
I made the wedding cakes and cake stands. One cake was white cake, filled with creamsicle custard with orange/cream buttercream. The groom’s cake was dark chocolate cake, raspberry filling and chocolate ganache on the outside.
The food was catered by my chef-friend Liz who used to work with Julia Child, so you know the food was DAMN GOOD.
Music by my favorite band out of Martha’s Vineyard, ENTRAIN.
Young and old were dancing to the funky sound of their amazing music in our yard til the wee hours of the morning.
i want to do it again!!!!!!!! Yee Haw!!!!!!
my mom used to throw amazing parties, i think cinco de mayo circa 2002 was best? lol
I had a fabulous time at my sister’s wedding ! My family and I enjoyed ourselves so much, even if we had a wild and stressful day!
The best parties are the ones with close friends/family and good food == always equals fun!
Our best party with the best memories,
One summer my husband and I rented a beach house for a week with our 4 kids their spouses and their children. We had a contest, each one of our children with their spouses had to make dinner for a night and my husband and I were the judges. The theme dinner had to include one appetizer, dinner and dessert along with a cocktail and non-alcoholic beverage. The judging was based on preparation and taste. In the end we chose all the kids as winners because they all did a fantastic job and we all had soo much fun. The dinners were amazing and delicious.
The prize was a large serving bowl shaped into a seashell.
Looks like I might have to throw a party after all!
Seems like we are the only ones that ever throw parties, so I guess it would be a going away party for a couple of former co-workers that were not even celebrated for all of the fantastic work they had done over years, our boss brought in cupcakes, that was all she did. To top everything off, she did not even send out an email to the newsroom announcing that this was their last day; and that we all wish them both the best. Nor did she even attend the good-bye. So, I threw them a huge party at our very small apartment, cooked and baked for 2 days. The party was great fun, everyone had a blast. The party invites simply said this ain’t no effin’ cupcake party.

The best party was the 40th birthday of my oldest daughter when the entire family including grandchildren went to Disneyworld for a Disney cruise.
The best I’ve been to was a quince for my best friend, that basically kicked off high school for us. We still talk about it 11 years later. Not sure if we can top it.
